Everest

Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in the world, towering over 29,000 ft high! But Everest is an unforgiving place one mistake and you’re dead. One out of every ten people that climbs Everest dies.
Everest is located in India in between Nepal and Tibet. Before you climb Everest you must go through severe training because of High Altitude Pulmonary Endmina (HAPE). You can get HAPE from drastically changing your altitude. Basically, if you live at sea level and fly to Everest you would die in three minutes.
So, why do people climb the mountain? “Because its there”, is what a lot of climbers say. Before you get to the top you stop at Camp 1, 2, 3, and 4 to rest and to eat. Camps 1, 2, and 3 are easier camps to get to because they‘re not in the death zone. What is the death zone?
The death zone is elevations are above 25,000 feet, where there is barely any oxygen and you have to bring oxygen with you. Once you’re in the death zone you are dying. You only have limited time in the death zone before you’re gone. At camp 4 you would go to sleep very early and wake up at about 12 am to start again. You hope to get to the summit at about 1 pm because you need daylight to get back down.
So why would you want to climb Mt Everest? Because it would be an exciting challenge and if everything goes right, a good experience.

The HAPE is interesting. I didn't know that. Please, Angie, stay out of the "death zone!"
