Batik
Batik is a cloth that people in eastern Asia make. It is a wax-resistant dying technique used on textile. It was originated in Indonesia. It is considered a national art form.
It is considered an art form and a craft because it is a part of an ancient tradition in Indonesia. Some of the world’s finest batik is made there. The artist may use etching, discharge dyeing, stencils, and different tools for waxing and dyeing. They could work with silk, cotton, wool, leather, paper or even wood and ceramics.
There are many ways for the artist to express the batik. The range of techniques available offers the artist more chances to explore an exciting process in an exciting way.
Melted wax is put on the cloth before it is dipped in the dye. Many artist use a mixture of beeswax and paraffin wax.
The price of the finished batik may vary depending upon the artist. It could be $20.00 or $200.00.
But people are willing to pay for of the wonderful and beautiful quality.
